NEK 606 Standard Offshore & Marine Cables
NEK 606:2004 is the Norwegian industry standard for the Offshore Oil and Gas, Ship & Marine Industries, IEC 61892–4 is the European standard now in place.
The NEK 606 cables are flame retardant to IEC 60332 and when a mica glass tape is applied over the conductors then are fire resistant to IEC 60331.

BS 6883 & BS 7917 Standard Offshore & Marine Cables
BS 6883 is the British (and also an international) industry standard for the Offshore Oil and Gas, Ship Building and Marine Industries in the UKCS.
The BS 6883 cables are flame retardant to IEC 60332 and when a mica glass tape is applied over the conductors they are then fire resistant to IEC 60331 and BS 7917.
